Constructed in walnut, the polished top with a moulded edge, standing on 4 ebonised splayed turned legs supported by a low shelf.  Stamped 'JAs SHOOLBRED & Co 7907' to the underside

James Shoolbred & Co were London makers of fine furniture of the late 19th century, becoming one of the first large department stores in London, their catalogues showed new designs photographed and displayed alongside the textiles and carpets they also retailed.
