A pair of Meissen figures of Hoopoe birds (Wiedehopf), 20th Century, after the models by J.J. Kändler. Naturalistically modelled and coloured, perched on tree stumps with branches and leaves and decorated with flower heads, foliage and one with a stag beetle. With crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, one with incised model number 77072 and also numbered 1253 and under-glaze green 23, the other numbered 77073 and also numbered 1383 and under-glazed 23. 33cm maximum height.
