A GIII gold chain with filigree barrel clasp
the circular links with an intricate woven design pattern and lozenge motif decoration on a barrel shaped clasp with filigree decoration. Given the date of the necklace it is not surprising that it does not carry a gold mark but it does test as gold. Some of the links show wear consistent with age but not effecting stability. The barrel clasp also shows some damage and will have been stone set but again functions well. Circa 1800.
