Continental centre table in the Louis XVI style
the brass bound top with mahogany parquetry trellis with box and ebony stringing, amboyna banding, the whole decorated with brass ormolu mounts, a single frieze drawer complete with original key, stands on square tapering legs terminating in ormolu mounts, with swept stretcher issuing from a central circular boss

The property of Sir William Jardine of Applegirth, 9th Bt (grandson of the famous ornithologist of the same name.
Purchased to furnish the 6 large additions to the house completed in 1890’s by Architect Edward J. May.
Condition: Fabulous original condition, the mahogany with rich warm hues and the ormolu mounts in excellent condition.
