A set of three Victorian silver oval Tazze/comports by Crichton and Co of Edinburgh. In one larger and two smaller all three embossed with flowers on a textured background with a scallop shell to each end, a vacant cartouche to each side and each with two handles decorated with a classical head in scallop shell and with a putti’s face to either side. Each with stem on oval foot and with embossed beading to the edges. The interior and underside are silver gilt. Hallmarked Edinburgh 1884 and maker’s mark Crichton & Co. Sizes are 10cm high, 36cm long including handles, 18.5cm wide and the two smaller ones 7.5cm high, 25.5cm long including handles and 14cm wide. Total weight 1170grs.
Condition: The overall condition is very good. The gilt to the interior has been worn by polishing. Foot of one of the smaller ones is very slightly bent but this is hardly noticeable.
