Yew and elm stick back child's Windsor chair
The double hoops in rich honey coloured yew, the arm supports are turned and urn shaped, the seat in well figured elm.
English, circa 1820
Condition: Lovely colour and construction throughout. These child's Windsor chairs were made as miniature versions of the full size models, quite often these scale models end up with oversized heavy turned legs, this example retains the delicate profile of a better Windsor chair. Yew was used for the best models of these chairs because of its dense texture and superior colour.
