Sheraton Mahogany Bowfront Side Table
The bowfront top and drawers crossbanded in satinwood with ebony and boxwood stringing, 4 drawers comprising: two small shallow drawers to the left, a deep drawer to the middle and a small deep drawer to the right, the oak lined drawers with brass handles and a key to fit all the locks. Stands on square tapering legs with boxwood stringing, terminating with a collar to match. The top extends over the back board so that it will fit flush to the wall over a skirting.
English, circa 1800
Condition: Good colour and uniform patination, the top has a slight ring mark to the back and a light bloom to the left side and a few other marks, these are caused by fading of the grain filler which was used on the new mahogany when it was first polished. These marks are testament to the original finish to the top, making it beautifully untouched.
