Scottish Victorian mahogany chest of drawers
Comprising 6 drawers, the serpentine fronted frieze conceals a hidden sixth drawer. A chest of large Victorian proportions, with well figured mahogany veneers to the front and set off by a pair of turned columns, turned wooden handles and mother of pearl escutcheons
Scottish, circa 1880
Condition: The condition is very good, the front with good uniform colour, the top and sides have shrinkage cracks to the middle, this is common with veneered furniture - when the planks under the veneer shrink this split the veneers, they should not move any more now the timber is well seasoned.
