A Dutch mahogany tea bucket, or jardiniere
This would make a fabulous champagne bucket. Of elegant form with slatted sides through which the original brass liner shines, supported on a well turned column and triform base with pad feet.
Dutch, circa 1820
Dutch tea buckets were used in the drawing room, with a burner and kettle, to heat water for making tea in porcelain pots.
Condition: Constructed from fine dark mahogany in lovely condition, the original brass liner has had a few repairs over the years.
