A 19th Century French Ormolu and glass ball ink bottle. The bottle formed as a flat bottomed glass ball with a small ink reservoir and has a delicate pierced floral and scroll decoration around the neck and a hinged bun-shaped lid with applied floral finial. 9cm high, 5.5cm diameter.
Condition: The gilding is quite worn in places and the glass has some scuffs but from the inside it appears the inkwell has never been used.
